- This is a NON-smoking facility, as is the Lutheran Hospital campus.
- No smoking, alcohol, illegal substances, or weapons of any kind are allowed on the premises.
- We have a no-tolerance policy regarding abuse of any nature.
- Food and drinks (other than water) may be stored and consumed only in the kitchen/dining areas. Guests are required to clean up after cooking, eating and drinking. This includes, but is not limited to: cleaning the counter and cooking areas, loading the dishwasher (or emptying it if the dishes are clean), cleaning the table, etc. Additionally, all common areas are the responsibility of our guests.
- When you are ready to check out, it is your responsibility to complete the checklist of chores for your room.
- You may have visitors in the House from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. All visitors need to sign in, and they are expected to follow all House policies.
- Any child under the age of 18 must be supervised at all times in all areas of the House by a family member.
- Persons exposed to or having a contagious illness may be required to vacate the House. Guests who have been diagnosed with a contagious illness must notify the office immediately.
- In the event that your room is unoccupied for more than 24 hours, you will be asked to check out and, if needed, placed back on our waiting list.
- Quiet time is set for 10 p.m. – includes laundry facilities and the television room.
- Social workers/nurses/doctors at the hospitals advise Children’s Hope staff if a family is not spending the recommended amount of time with their ill child or are not caring adequately for the child. More than one instance of this type may result in eviction from the House.
- An appropriate dress code must be maintained at all times.
- Staying at the Children’s Hope House is a privilege. We reserve the right to request a guest or family to vacate the property.
