CHILDREN’S HOPE HOUSE RECEIVES $45,000
The Mad Anthonys organization is pleased to announce that its has presented the Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House with a check for $45,000 from its 2009 Charity Classic golf events and other fundraising activities. According to Mad Anthonys past president, Mike Thomas, the amount represents a decrease from last year’s contribution, which was expected due to the economic downturn.
“Despite the fact that individuals and corporations tightened their belts this past year, there is still a strong commitment to philanthropy in our community, and we believe this donation reflects that,” said Thomas. “We look forward to an exciting Charity Classic in 2010 and other activities to support the Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House.”
Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House Executive Director, Cindy Klee Atkinson, expressed her gratitude at the donation. “Donations from the Charity Classic provide invaluable operational support for our organization,” said Atkinson. She also noted that the Children’s Hope House is currently unable to meet the demand for its services, and planning is underway for the expansion of its facilities.
The annual Mad Anthonys Charity Classic has been a Fort Wayne tradition since 1957. In 2007, the Mad Anthonys began a partnership with Children’s Hope House dedicating all of its fundraising efforts to the organization.
The Mad Anthony’s is a charitable organization founded in 1957 and comprised of business leaders and professionals from northeast Indiana. The Mad Anthony’s Charity Classic golf event is one of the country’s premier charity golf events and has raised millions of dollars for charitable organizations in Fort Wayne.
