Fort Wayne, IN. – The Mad Anthonys organization announced today the donation of $40,000 to its sister organization, The Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House.
The money was raised by the Mad Anthonys through their annual Charity Classic, which has been a Fort Wayne tradition since 1957 which brings professional, amateur and celebrity golfers alike together to raise money for a cause near and dear to all our hearts – children and families. In early 2007, Mad Anthonys made the decision to forgo its tradition of revolving charities and partner exclusively with Fort Wayne’s Children’s Hope House with the goal of raising the visibility and fund-raising capabilities of both organizations. So the Children’s Hope House was renamed The Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House and all Mad Anthonys fund raising efforts will now be dedicated exclusively to this organization.
The Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House provides nearby lodging and support services for the families of children undergoing pediatric and neonatal treatment. Because Fort Wayne has become a hub for all of northern Indiana, southern Michigan and western Ohio, this function is critical to the families of children with severe illnesses and conditions.
“We are thrilled, not only for this generous gift but for the gift of a long-term friend and partner,” said Debra Meyer, Executive Director of the Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House. “It is our hope that, together, Mad Anthonys and Children’s Hope House can do even more good for even more families at their most critical hour. We thank Mad Anthonys for their support and we thank everyone who gave of their time and themselves at this latest Charity Classic.”
The Mad Anthonys is a charitable organization founded in 1957 and comprised of business leaders and professionals from northeast Indiana. The Mad Anthonys Charity Classic golf event is one of the country’s premier charity golf events and has raised millions of dollars for charitable organizations in Fort Wayne.
